Keeping you signed in

Dispatch uses first-party sign-in cookies to remember your session, protect sign-in requests and return you to the right page. Their names include next-auth.session-token, next-auth.csrf-token and next-auth.callback-url; secure versions may have a prefix.

A sign-in session lasts up to seven days and can renew while you use the site. Sign out to end it on this device. The other sign-in cookies normally last for your browser session. Blocking these cookies can stop sign-in from working.

Remembering your preferences

Browser storage is also used for your appearance choices, the assistant’s position, an account-invitation reminder and your performance choice below. These stay on that browser until you change them or clear site data. The invitation waits seven days before appearing again; the stored date itself stays until cleared.

The entry-animation setting lasts for the current tab session. Older versions of Dispatch may have left a local reading list on your device; importing it into the Vault keeps that older copy until you clear it. New account and Vault records are stored in the database, not just in your browser.

Checking page speed

If you allow it, Vercel Speed Insights receives page-speed measurements and information such as the public page, browser, device type, network type and country. Vercel describes these measurements as not identifying individual visitors.

Dispatch removes search text and URL fragments from these measurements and excludes account, Vault, sign-in, admin and answer-practice pages. There are no advertising trackers added by Dispatch.

Turning measurements off stops further performance events from this browser; it does not remove measurements already sent or essential hosting logs. See Vercel’s explanation for provider details.

Clearing things yourself

Your browser’s website-data settings let you remove Dispatch’s cookies and local storage. This signs you out and resets preferences, but does not delete your online account or Vault. For those, see your privacy choices.
